My love story with pit bulls is best told on the "Happy New Beginnings" page (Twinkie and Bella's story). We adopted two wonderful pit bulls from PittieLove Rescue who have changed my life and the way I look at a dog. I've always loved dogs, but was always intimidated by pit bulls. I had met several nice pitties through out the years, but assumed they were exceptions to what the media portrays. SO wrong.

 

Riley (formerly Twinkie) and Bella, our respective pit bulls are not just dogs to us. They are members of our family - and when people dislike a member of your family for really no reason at all - you have to do something about it! Being a pit bull owner has taught me to stand up for the things I care about. The persecution this breed has endured would be laughable if it weren't so tragic. For all these people who slander the breed...I have to wonder...do they even know any pit bulls? For if you know a pit bull, have been kissed by a pit bull, seen your child sleep snuggled up to a pit bull, shared your life with a pit bull....you would do all you could to help this breed.
