Sammy

Meet my best pal, Penelope Pit bull, or Penny for short. As you can see, Penny is a boat dog and she enjoys being with me everywhere I go. She just turned three last month and she still acts like a puppy from time to time. She loves children, people, cats, and other dogs. We go for walks every day and we also sail to our favorite coves, and islands out on the bay in the summer months. She also loves to ride in my kayak. She sits very still while I paddle her to shore. When she wants my attention, she comes right up to me and sits down in front of me, and taps me on my leg with her paw. This can mean, play with me, or take me outside because I have to go. Three years ago, when I lost my beloved Pit Bull mix, Ziggy, age 11, I got in contact with Noreen through a friend in the yacht club. I emailed her about getting a puppy like Ziggy, to share my life with. She sent me some pictures of five puppies that she was fostering. Noreen invited my wife and myself to see the pups at her home in Framingham and after I saw Penny, I wanted her more than anything. To make a long story short, Noreen was so sweet and helpful in arranging for us in the adoption process. She gave me some dog toys for Penny to play with, along with a leash, collar, and pet meds. To this day, I still keep in touch with her. She's a very dedicated lady.   As for Penny, I adore the ground that she walks on, and I think my wife is a little jealous. Some of my friends have said, " I'll never get another dog again." "I get to attached to them." I can only say, that it's better to have loved and lost, than not to have loved at all. Besides, there's a lot of beautiful animals out there sitting in kennels and dog pounds that are desperately in need of a "forever home", and if I can give that to them, it's going to make my whole life a lot richer and fuller, as well as theirs.Unfortunately, Pit Bulls have gotten a bad wrap for many years, but I'm here to attest to the fact that if you give them a lot of love, this love will come back to you ten fold. Don't let anyone kid you. They are no different than any other dog as long as there is love.
Love, Joe and Penny
