Happy New Beginnings

Patty Patty (now known as Roxy) her sister and three brothers came to us at 6 weeks of age from the Sterling Shelter in 2004. They were abandoned an a MA city by their young owner. Patty was fostered by Noreen and is our rescues mascot! As you can see she, she was and is a beautiful sweet girl.

Shannon (now Shanti), her brother Liam and sister Chloe were rescued and fostered by PLR. They came to us from a MA backyard breeder. They were in pretty rough shape as a result of poor nutrition. They had puppies that the could not "sell" and asked for our help. That's the beginning and here is Shanti's Happy New Beginning!

Hank now Tommy came to us from a concerned woman. She called Noreen and asked for our help. Apparently one of her co-workers got the pup from a neighbor and could not keep him. He was quite the hit with all the woman in her office and she knew she had to do something to help him. This kind woman kept him overnight and brought him to us the next day. He was fosted by our Director of Adoptions, Mary, her adult female Pit Bull Zoie and her two young daughters Veronica and Ava.

Kano was a stray that was housed at a VCA vet hospital as an animal control dog.  We were contacted by Colleen, a vet tech at the hospital.  She was wanted to foster Kano if we would help place him.
That we did!  He met his forever home while at the VCA and the rest is happy history!
Colleen has since fostered two other rescued pit bulls for us.
Thanks Colleen!!

The rescue took in little Skooter as a four month old pup. He was at a high kill shelter with little to no chance of adoption.
He was fostered by our dear friends Joe and Monique who adopted their Pit Bulls, Tessie and recently Tigger from us.
We had many applications for him but Liz was recommended to us by a prior volunteer and adopter of ours. Thanks Laurie C! :)
The rest is history! Skooter is sure living the good life!

Zita now Bella was rescued with her four siblings from our dear friends at Lawrence Animal Control.
Mary, our VP, fostered all the puppies for the first week as they were too young to be separated and vaccinated.
We lost our little Mimi, the runt of the litter due to congestive heart failure.
Very difficult for all of us, especially so for Mary and her two young children, Veronica and Ava.
Zita, now Bella was fostered by Keri and family.
Thanks Keri!
Bella is now living the life she so deserves with Lesley and Sid!

Sawyer now Shelby was rescued by PLR along with her 4 siblings as puppies.
She was fostered by our friend Liz, who adopted Shelby's sister.
Thanks Liz!
Very special thanks to Shelby's Mom and Dad, Gary and Donna. Shelby was a sick pup and will likely need future medical care as you will see in her Happy New Beginning story.
Gary and Donna have done everything and more for their girl. We could never thank them enough!
